SATMA Awards “Jazz & African Music Festival”
Day 2 of the SATMA Event Weekend is the SATMA JAZZ & AFRICAN MUSIC FESTIVAL, at Lotlamoreng Dam in Mahikeng.
This Local Festival Celebration is all about the very best in Local, Traditional Music, Food, Crafts and Culture.
Festivities commence at 2PM, as we welcome everyone, of all ages to join-in as we celebrate the essence of African Traditional Culture. The SATMA Stage will host a Line-up of performers in an unparalleled gathering of the best in Local Jazz and Traditional Musicians and Dancers, featuring many of the most significant Legends of African Music Culture.

In addition to all of the above, one of the biggest attractions of the SATMA 2017 TRADITIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL is special Live Performance from the Legendary Soul Outfit, The O’JAYS!
The O’Jays were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005 and honored with BET’s Life Time Achievement Award in 2009. In 2013, they were inducted into The Official R&B Music Hall of Fame. Today, the songs of The O’Jays are still being used in many movies, commercials and TV shows. “For The Love of Money” continues to be the theme song for “The Apprentice.”
Eddie Levert Sr., Walter Williams Sr. and Eric Nolan Grant, who joined the group in 1995, continue to thrill fans today. Throughout their career The O’Jays have achieved 10 Gold albums, 9 Platinum albums and 10 #1 hits. It’s been a long journey but thanks to the fans the LOVE TRAIN is still going strong!
The SATMA Main Stage will be surrounded by various audience areas; depending on the level of ticket, that include:

There will also be exhibitors, crafters and rural entrepreneurs, from all over the country, who will be showcasing traditional craftwork and traditional food; displayed and sold at the venue.
We are expecting approximately 25 000 (ticket-holders) people in attendance at the SATMA Traditional Music Festival.
Based on previous years experience, the SATMA Main Event weekend (Friday & Saturday) will create over 800 job opportunities; especially for young people, and it will also create empowering business opportunities and exposure for SMMEs.
