SATMA Awards Management wishes to inform the public that a decision has been taken to reschedule the 11th SATMA Awards 2016 events which were scheduled to take place on the 30th September and 1st October 2016.
After an extensive consultation with all stakeholders we have looked at the state of readiness and decided to reschedule, due to various factors that contributed to the decision (e.g) Thanda Royal Zulu game is scheduled for Sunday, 2nd October 2016 in the same venue where the 11th SATMA Awards will be taking place “uMhlathuze Sports Complex “ and we have also had requests and complaints from 2016 nominees of the time frame given for the voting campaign and promotion of the voting procedures.
The City of uMhlathuze, King Cetshwayo as our hosting municipalities and SATMA Awards Management have agreed on a new date which is the 28th and 29th October 2016 at the same venue in Richards Bay, uMhlathuze Sport Complex grounds, in celebration of Women and Youth of South Africa under the theme “IMBOKODO IS OUR HERITAGE”.
The Comedy Night and the Ladies Night event will be on the 28th October 2016 and the Main Awards will be on the 29th October together with the PVA (Public Viewing Area).
We’re appealing to the public at large and those who have already bought tickets for the events to keep them for the new dates as stated above. A statement from the Founder of the SATMA Awards Mr Dumisani Goba, I quote “I am in full support of this decision and we are very committed to deliver the best event come the 28th and 29th of October 2016. This is an exciting year for all of us as we celebrate the women of Mzansi. “As the District we are in full support of the postponement because we want to see the best awards where every stake holder’s is fully behind them. We also believe that public needed more time to vote and it will also give us more time for build-up events within our district ” said Nonhle Mkhulisi, King Cetshwayo District Municipality. City of uMhlathuze Mayor Cll Mdu Mhlongo said. “For us to state a big and better event that will also benefit local business and people in general, we favored the reschedule toward the end of October. This will give ample time to fine tune our plans where we ran short of time. This is a collective decision and shall benefit all of us,” said Mayor Mdu Mhlongo.
