SATMA Awards are pitched at a national level as they speak to all races and cultural diversification in our country. The SATMA Awards slogan “My Culture, Your Culture, One Nation”, was chosen in line with the vision which seeks to unify all ethnic and racial groups as well as Africans within the diaspora through traditional music and heritage.
In the past years SATMA Awards have hosted many high profile individuals such as His Excellency Former President of the RSA, Dr. JG Zuma, National Ministers, Premiers, Business people, Kings and Amakhosi.
The SATMA Awards have honored freedom fighters and legends from RSA, the African continent and abroad such as Inkosi Albert Luthuli, Dr. Nelson Mandela, OR Tambo, Steve Biko, Robert Sobukwe, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Patrick Lumumba, Mahatma Gandhi, etc.
SATMA Awards has also honored artists like Merriam Makeba, Dolly Rathebe, Phuzushukela, Nofinishi Dwili, Mahlathini Nkabinde, Soul Brothers, Nothembi Mkhwebane and many other Legends and Icons in our music industry. SATMA Awards also honors individuals that promote the use of our indigenous languages in different fields like the comedy and Film sector as well as writers.
