The South African Traditional Music Achievement (SATMA) Awards were founded in 2006 and are the largest traditional music awards in Africa; celebrating indigenous music, culture, and heritage. SATMA Awards is celebrating 15 years of existence this year in the province of Mpumalanga for 3 years including 2020. Every year, SATMA Awards celebrates heritage in a different theme; 2020’s theme is “Celebrating Afrika”, designed to unite and celebrate Africa in South Africa, in the continent, and the diaspora.
There will be a Gala Dinner in celebrating its 15 years of existence in the Mpumalanga province, due to the regulations of complying with Covid 19, the event will take into consideration, the social distancing and controlling the crowd, the SATMA Awards has limited its invitations.

The SATMA Truck will be doing a Roadshows from the 2nd – 3rd October 2020 around Mpumalanga creating hype and awareness of the SATMAs presents in the province.
Artists invited for the event are Dr. Nothembi Mkhwebane / Blaq Diamond / Vhudie and some cultural dance groups. The premier of the Mpumalanga province / the MEC and the HOD for the DCSR are amongst the invited guests including Supa-Vite brand ambassadors.
