SATMA Awards hosted a successful media launch in Cape Town on Saturday, 20th of May 2017. The event started at
Robben Island and ended with dinner at Marcos African Place, Cape Town. The purpose of the launch was to unveil
SATMA XII programmes for 2017. This launch was attended by numerous music legends such as Babsy Mlangeni,
Mama Nothembi Mkhwebane, Jessica Mbangeni, Buselaphi.

During the dinner phase of the SATMA Awards Launch, Thee Legacy, Nomtiti Group, Maqhinga Radebe and David

Marco’s African Place. Comedian Simphiwe Shembe had the whole house laughing non-stop and Siyabonga

to embrace and preserve their cultures using her poetry. She inspires a lot of South Africans and will bring additional
vibrant energy to the SATMA brand.

Development Fund; which is based in the SATMA Awards’ host province, Bokone Bophirima. This contribution will
assist towards university education and school uniforms for disadvantaged scholars.
